Their Network Operation Center guy, William Kennedy, said that anybody who complains about the spam is a loser, same as those who don't just hit delete (JHD), and that they will complain to ARIN and ICANN if their IP ranges will be blocked. They may complain for as much as they want, but their spammer's network will NOT have an access to my mailservers - I don't need their spam or any other abuse of my private resources. webcountry.net, worldsite.net, [209.134.0.0 - 209.134.63.255]: Access denied! === Post to the news.admin.net-abuse.email on William Kennedy's behalf === From rowley@netaxs.com Fri Dec 7 23:49:10 2001 Path: uni-berlin.de!fu-berlin.de!cpk-news-hub1.bbnplanet.com!news.gtei.net!news.voicenet.com!yellow.newsread.com!bad-news.newsread.com!netaxs.com!newsread.com!netaxs.newsread.com!access.netaxs.com!rowley From: Tony Rowley Newsgroups: news.admin.net-abuse.email Subject: Webcountry.net - spamhaus? "Tech support" doesn't take phone calls, so I hit the call menu for sales, and a sales person immediately put me through to what passes for a NOC at Webcountry. I spoke to a "William Kennedy", who stated that I could quote him on the following: - any blocking on their IP space would result in complaints to ARIN and ICANN. - Anyone who complains about UCE is a "loser". - Anyone who doesn't just JHD is a "loser". [at this point he went into a 3 or 4 minute screed about how he haves getting paper junk mail and catalogs but since they're not illegal, UCE shouldn't be either] - Webcountry does not provide rDNS for their customer base because they have over 1000 downstream T1 customers and numerous colo and hosting customers and for them to do so would require effort they don't wish to put out. I furnished my name and office # and he told me he'd have his supervisor call me. _____________________________________________________________________________ Tony Rowley rowley@netaxs.com |"No oath, no pledge, no vow greater than Netaxs Internet Services | this: to never give up."
